Digital Communications Protocol
This is a tweet from The Sun newspaper. Showing by the tweet this is aimed towards the middle/ lower class working people, as this is a topic that they would find interesting. They have tweeted this as on the link (at the end) it takes you to the web link of The Sun, and it shows a letter from a reader explaining her issue. This tweet contains 4 retweets, and 1 favourite. When someone retweet it appears on their page and on everyone who follows them. They could do this to get the word out or just to make a comment about it. When someone favourites it does the same. They have created this tweet to show that their are many people always in the same or similar situation everyday.
This is another tweet from The Sun newspaper. This is a more serious headline and tweet. It is advertising a headline on their website and hoping it will draw attention to it. This has had 5 retweets and 4 favourites. This means the readers have retweeted it and again it will end up for everyone else to see. It has been linked so others know where to go to see the rest of the story.
This is another tweet from The Sun newspaper. It is showing an analysis on the new Amazon Fire phone. It has been linked to the reviewers account as well as the full story. This means others can follow the reviewer if they enjoy hearing more about the latest gadgets. However this has only had 2 retweets as it is not a very popular subject.
This is a screenshot of a tweet that the tabloid, Daily Mirror had posted. It contains a link onto their official web page for those who would like to know more about whether this phone should win the "Phone of the year award". This tweet has been linked to a professional that analysis and reviews new phones and compares them to other phones.
Here is a broadsheet which shows a link to their website to follow up with the story. This shows exactly what a broadsheet is. It is a serious issue and not just a little story. There are no hash tags nor are there any links to other users. It is very professional and simple but effective.
This is from The Sun's twitter page, it is a typical tabloid as it is just giving news about the latest hype. This is aimed at the younger readers as it is what they typically do and enjoy. It has a link to their web page for the readers to learn more about the subject.
Here is another typical post and automatically know that this is aimed at the young adults and middle class/ lower class workers as an audience.
Editors
This is a tweet from David Dinsmore, the editor from The Sun. This is a tweet to represent the awareness of breast cancer. He has linked a video from Youtube as a tweet and added the link to the company 'CoppaFeelPeople' who are the ones raising the awareness. It contains only 2 retreats and 2 favourites as well as the link to the video for the readers to watch. This is another tweet from the Editor of the Sun, this one is about the latest X factor contest Orla being arrested for drug dealing in Spain. This is shocking news to everyone as the X factor has not that long been on. This tweet has had 11 retweets and 9 favourites. The editor has not added any links to it just the image.
This tweet is about a a ' Breaking Bad' fan that tried to poison her mother after she found out the ending to Breaking Bad.He has added the link to The Sun newspaper for others to read more about it. Only 2 people have retweeted and favourited. The word will not get around unless people either follow David Dinsmore or The Sun, or it will come up for those who retweeted's wall for others to see.
This one is more relatable to everyone as the readers enjoy hearing about the royal family. This one is about Prince Harry getting back together with his ex girlfriend Cressida. Again there are no links however, the readers enjoyed it so much that he didn't need to add any links. I know this as there is 10 retweets and 6 favourites in which will come up on other people's wall.
Amol Rajan
This is a tweet from the editor from The Independent. This tweet is a dig a the political parties in which the readers can relate to on a daily basis. This has gotten a lot of attention as it has 328 retweets and 129 favourites. This means many people have viewed it and feels the same towards it. This is a great way of trying to advertise the paper and himself.

Task 1 |
| Here is one of the props used for the scavenger hunt |
The Tron Legacy campaigners used twitter to get the word out and for others to join in with the hype by using #FlynnLives. With the scavenger hunt they handed them a packet with a map and a black light. This gives them clues. This lead them to Flynn's where the Tron game began. The audience saw the bike used in the film/ game and was amazed. As for print they used their own design T-shirts that had Tron written on it with a hidden code in it. If the audience used their black light it would reveal the code which they could then use on the web site.
| This is a tweet from one of the participants using #Flynnlives |
Why so serious? Dark Knight was designed as a reality experience that was played out over 15 months up to the release of the Dark Knight.
The campaigners used a real audience to become citizens of Gotham City. Over 11 million unique participants in over 75 countries dressed up as the joker. They used multiply techniques, from calling phone numbers written in the sky, to hunting down GPS coordinates to find phones in birthday cakes. They also redesigned a poster with the joker on it. All these techniques are live events, promotions, print and a scavenger hunt. This all was happening globally and was a huge success.
| Participants used face paint to look like the joker. This was done globally |
Mark of the Spider-Man this campaign went viral. However it was smaller than the other ones. This was only done in the US.
The techniques used were, social media, and live events. Loads of people joined in with graffitiing the walls of the US, in different states. They sprayed Spider- man's logo all over the walls writing "Mark of the Spider- Man" next to it and then adding it to their social media with #MarkoftheSpiderman. This did leave everyone curious as to why they were doing this in all the different states, and then revealed when they new spider-man film came out.

Task 2
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1
The Product:
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, is a sequel continuing from the previous movie, The Hunger Games. These movies have been based on the book collections written by Suzanne Collins and are adored by thousands of people across the world.
The Vital Tag Line
"Free Peeta!" This will be the Viral tagline as most fans have seen the previous film and will have a sense of idea as to what the new film is about.
Campaign Ideas
- Video Ideas, Social Media Elements: To make this campaign go viral, I would use a group of dancers in different areas of a country and the world to form a flash mob. Mostly in cities such as New York, London, Paris etc... There will be hidden cameras to film as well as the public. The hidden camera will be connected up to a big screen in a city for others around who are not in that area. With the public filming this it will be posted on social medias, such as; Facebook, Twitter, Instagram... any social media. The dancers will be dressed as the main characters in the new Hunger Games films. This will get the audience's attention and have them wonder who these new people are. I will also have street performers (singers) singing the new song featured in the film 'Hanging Tree' this will be done globally as well. Street performers are well known to filmed by tourists and shared on social media. The more that get filmed and shared the more people that will notice they are all singing the same song. Left wondering, why? Why this song?
- Poster: A poster with just the Mockingjay on it with a black background will be created. Those who are true Hunger Game fans will straight away recognise the symbol. However, there is no writing, nothing just the symbol. This will be put out during the night globally around cities, towns, villages etc... This would confuse the public. Why is it there? Is the new film out soon? Is it just a picture? As time gets closer, a new poster will be going out. Same design, only difference is that there is a number. To us working behind it all it is the day it comes out. But not the month or year, just day. This will intrigue the audience more and ask why the number? When is it? What is it? Simple but effective.
- Games: My game will be an action game. This will be based around the first hunger games. Therefore it will be the same characters fighting other characters. This will be an online game in which you can play anyone in the world. However, little parts of the new film will be featured into it. This will be noticeable but to the players it will just be part of the game, it isn't until they watch the film that they realise it was secretly put in. The date of the release will be put in, in the background and those who have a good eye will catch the hidden message.
