Samantha Brick
Samantha Brick is not a bad columnist for saying that she is beautiful, however, this is not an appropriate thing to write about as it could come across as stuck up and snobby to the readers.
She explains in her column that she had got a free champagne from the captain on a plane, and says "You’re probably thinking ‘what a lovely surprise’. But while it was lovely, it wasn’t a surprise. At least, not for me.Throughout my adult life, I’ve regularly had bottles of bubbly or wine sent to my restaurant table by men I don’t know." This is not something she should write about as it is quite simply bragging and some of her readers could feel insecure about themselves as it isn't happening to them.
Samantha Brick says "But there are downsides to being pretty — the main one being that other women hate me for no other reason than my lovely looks." this again is not necessary and most probably could not be true. She is basically saying that she is much prettier than other women and that is why they don't like her. However, her saying this has most probably make her readers dislike her.
Although all this has been said, it does not make her a bad columnist, she probably writes amazing columns but she may have just lost a few of her readership just for this one unnecessary column.
